At 6'01", and 185lbs, he played the position of Left Wing for teams in the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA), Canadian Hockey League (CHL), and the National Hockey League (NHL). Garland played for the Montreal Junior Canadiens from 1970 to 1971, Peterborough Petes from 1971 to 1972, Tulsa Oilers from 1972 to 1973, and 1977 to 1978, Oklahoma City Blazers from 1973 to 1976, Toronto Maple Leafs from 1975 to 1977, Springfield Indians from 1978 to 1979, and the Los Angeles Kings from 1978 to 1979. He was killed in a car accident in Montreal, Quebec, on June 9, 1979, at the age of 27. (bio by: K)
