Andrew [sic] Gardner, an N. P. brakeman, fell off of freight train No. 15, near Big Lake, on Wednesday and was instantly killed. His remains were brought to this city Wednesday night and taken to Losey & Dean's undertaking room where they were prepared for burial. The interment took place Thursday afternoon in Evergreen cemetery. (Brainerd Dispatch, 03 December 1886, p. 4, c. 4)
