Frank Xavier Schneider of Devine, died in the Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio last Friday, November 18th, 1927, at 1:00 P.M. Mr. Schneider fell about five feet, hitting a saw trussle with his back and was internally injured. He managed to walk home from the place where he was injured and early Friday morning was rushed to the hospital and was operated upon, but died soon after.

Mr. Schneider was born at Castroville, Texas, and was 62 years old, but since early life has made his home in the neighborhood of Devine and of late years has been living in Devine.

He was married to Miss Mary Halbardier at Castoville, who survives him, and of this union five children were born, namely: Mrs. Alfred Bohl, Mrs. Alex Bohl, Mrs. Edwin Jungman, Eddie and Emil Schneider, as well as two brothers, Henry Schneider of Devine, and Joe Schneider of Castroville, and many other near and dear relatives to mourn his untimely demise and sudden death.

His remains were buried at Devine last Sunday, November 20th, immediately after High Mass, interment being made in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Father Goertz performing the last rites. A very large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends followed his remains to its last resting place.

The great destroyer has placed his signet on his brow and today hundreds who knew him living, mourn his death. To the grief stricken widow, children and brothers we offer up our sympathies in this their hour of sorrow. May a good heavenly Father who doeth all things "WELL" comfort them in their great bereavement. May he rest in peace.

Mr. Frank X. Schneider, age 62 years and some months, died at Santa Rosa Hospital, San Antonio, Friday, November 18th, at 1:00 P.M., as a result of a fall sustained here, while ceiling the George Ehlinger new residence. No one was in the room except a small child when Mr. Schneider fell across a wooden saw horse, and sustained ruptured bowels. After first aid given by Dr. Woods, he was taken to the hospital, where an operation was attempted, but death soon ended his sufferings.

Deceased was born, reared and married in Castroville, Medina County, but had lived at his farm three miles east from Devine, and then in Devine, for about forty years. He is survived by his widow, Mary Halbardier Schneider, and five children. Three daughters: Mrs. Alfred Bohl, Mrs. Alex Bohl, Mrs. Edwin Jungman; and two sons: Edward Schneider and Emil Schneider. Two brothers: Henry Schneider of Devine and Joe Schneider of Castroville.

Deceased was an upright, honorable man, kind to his family and to his neighbors. He was industrious, sensible and sober, always attending to his own affairs and having a kind word for everybody.

The funeral was conducted Sunday at 9:00 A.M. from St. Joseph Catholic Church. Attendance was very large; people coming from all parts of three counties. Rev. Leo Goertz conducted the funeral services, and the floral offerings were large.
