Hanover - George W. Becker of Hanover died unexpectedly at 10:10 am Wednesday in Van Buren, Ark., while returning home from a vacation. He was 57.
Mr. Becker was a plumber with Cam & Sons Plumbing and, before that, was a plumber for 20 years for Kenneth Harget.
Born in Hanover on Sept 25, 1937, he was a son of Mildred Sipling Becker of Hanover and the late George H. Becker.
He also leaves his wife, Nancy Cornbower Becker, to whom he was married 33 years; a daughter, Vickie L. Forbes, Hanover; two sons, Neil M. Becker, Hanover, and Shawn D. Becker, Clovis, NM; three grandchildren; six sisters, Millie Hertz, Gloria Hooper, Delores Martz, and Barbara Kopp, all of Hanover, Evelyn Smith, Thomasville, and Rose Frey, Dover; and seven brothers, Warren Becker, Abbottstown, John Becker, Brodbecks, Russell Becker and James Becker, both of Jefferson, Barry Becker, Dover, Stanley Becker, Spring Grove, and Donald Becker, York.
The service is at 2 pm Monday with the Rev. Donald G. Hubbell, pastor of Black Rock Church of the Brethren, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
