Willine was the oldest of 9 children, so according to my Momma, Laura Davis Austin, it was her responsibility to take care of the babies. All the other kids had to do chores and work in the fields but Willine tended to the babies. When she was old enough, she went to work at Springs Cotton Mill as a weaver. She also had a daughter who was severely physically and mentally handicapped and she devoted her life to taking care of her. She died at the age of 60 at the Chester County Hospital from complications onset by pneumonia.
Her daughter was Joyce Annette Davis.
