Bettie Lou Peeler Bemer (1930 - 2012)

Bettie Lou Peeler Bemer passed away in the early hours of Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at her home on Possum Kingdom Lake. Service: There will be a service in Bettie's honor at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Peters By-The-Lake Episcopal Church, 3128 Park Road No. 36, Graford.

Born May 31, 1930, in Seymour to a large family of 12 brothers and sisters, she always had exciting stories to tell of her adventures as a girl growing up in the country. Betty continued on to have a life filled with love, family and friends, and will always be remembered for the tremendous heart she had for those who had the pleasure to know her and be in her life. Though she spent much of her years as a resident of Texas, Fort Worth in particular, her adventurous spirit took her to visit many places around the world. Other residences included both Phoenix, Ariz., and Los Angeles, Calif. She first married Raymond McKeehan Peeler in November 1952, had two children, and stayed together as husband and wife, until his death Sept. 4, 1981. Her second husband was Robert W. Bemer, and they were together until his death June 22, 2004.

Survivors: Children, Betty Rae Peeler, and Glen Davis Peeler II and his wife, Suzanne Peeler; grandchildren, John Julian Peeler, Desire Varona Hawkey, Samantha Rae Peeler and Bradley Davis Peeler; stepgrandchildren, Brent Allan Flurry and Sara Renae Garbutt; and great-grandchildren, Peyton Olivia Hawkey and Piper Havana Hawkey.
