Thelma I. McCutchen, Upper Sandusky died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday Feb. 12, 2012 in the Fairhaven Health Care Community. She was 95 years old. Thelma was born on Feb. 25, 1916 she was the daughter of the late Lorin and Matilda (Enders) Courtad. On Aug. 1, 1963 she married Dean H. McCutchen and he passed away on Mar. 16, 1998.

Mrs. McCutchen is survived by her only daughter, Linda L. DeBolt, Upper Sanudsky. She also has 4 grandchildren, Sonja Ankney, Sycamore, Shauna (Raul) Amesquita, Vanlue, Sharri Racheter and Stefan Racheter, Upper Sandusky, 7 great grandchildren, Chantel, Seth, Shanae Ankney, Blake, Payton, Mason Amesquita and Lauren Racheter, two sister in laws Mary Courtad, Clona Courtad both of Upper Sandusky. She was loved greatly by many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were 8 brothers, Wayne, Glenn, Kara (KW), Charles, Paul (P.K.), Dale, Richard and Merle Courtad.

Mrs. McCutchen graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1934. She was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church of Christ. At 12 years old she was taught the Charleston dance by her brother Wayne, and they often danced together to victrola music. Mrs. McCutchen worked in 2 war plants during WW II, The US Rubber Plant and The Ferro Enamel Plant, both in Marion. She wore a 3 star pin everyday until her brothers Charles, Paul (P.K.) and Dale returned home safely. Although P.K. was a POW for several months he did return home safely. Her hobbies included mowing the yard, baking cookies, watching baseball and flower gardening.

A funeral services will be held Wed. Feb. 15, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Brad McKibben officiating. Visitation will be held Tues. Feb. 14, 2012 at the funeral home from 5-8:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Old Mission Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Angeline School of Opportunity, Trinity United Church of Christ, Wyandot Co.
