Birth: unknown
Shropshire, England
Death: 1632
Shropshire, England

Thomas Cocke was born to William and Elizabeth Cocke in Stottesdon, Shropshire England. At this time his birth year is not known, although he was most likely born before 1565. He had a brother Richard Cocke who died in Pickthorn in December 1583.

Thomas had at least two children:
1. Elenore Cocke of Pickthorn who was December 6, 1591 and died in August 1620 in Stottesdon.
2. Richard Cocke who was baptised on December 13, 1597 in the Parish of Sidbury. This Richard would be the one who emigrated to Virginia around 1627 and marry first Temperence Bailey and second Mary Aston. He died sometime after his will was written on October 4, 1665.

Thomas Cocke died in England sometime after 1632.

The above information was discovered by researcher Steven R. Day whose article entitled: "Origins of Richard Cocke of Henrico County, Virginia" was published in Magazine of Virginia Genealogy, Vol. 45, No. 3, August 2007.

There are many people who continue to clutch onto the other dates of birth and parentage for Thomas' son Richard Cocke of Bremo, however, I believe that Mr. Day has discovered the truth of the matter and I have adopted the new information.
