Sergeant Ora Jennings, DSN 3145, was commissioned as a Police Officer on 08/25/1958.
After graduating from the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department Academy he was assigned to the following Districts and Specialized Divisions through out his career. They were the 10Th, 8Th, Canine Division, 7Th, 6Th, Prisoner Processing Division, and the 8Th District.
Sergeant Jennings finally retired on 03/19/1988 with a total of 29.57 years of faithful and dedicated service to the Saint Louis Police Department.
Sergeant Jennings died of heart related problems at died at Barnes Hospital at 4:50 AM.
Sergeant Jennings was also a veteran of the United States Navy and attained the rank of Seamen Apprentice.
Sergeant Jennings left to mourn his passing his wife Dewilla (nee Williams) Jennings of the home located at 5589 (A) Page Avenue.
Sergeant Jennings was the son of the late Ora R. Jennings Sr. and Lottie Mae (nee Crafton) Jennings.
His wake and funeral was held at the Ted Foster and Son Funeral Home located at 1221 No. Grand Avenue.
Burial was held at St. Peters Cemetery in Normandy Missouri on 09/13/1989.
Buried in an unmarked grave.
