The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, with burial in Oakridge Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation will be for one hour before the service. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's fund.
Mr. Austin was born Oct. 11, 1896, in Effingham County, the son of George and Elfrida (Merry) Austin. He married Belva I. Ellis in 1918.
He was a retired farmer, a member of the Fox Hunters Association and a former member of the Farm Bureau.
Surviving are his wife; son, Keith of Lakeland, Fla.; daughters, Frances Claar and Mrs. James (Carol) Klein, both of Effingham; brothers, George and Floyd, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters, Pearl Pickens of Newton, Lucille Smith of Sparks, Nev.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, one brother and three sisters.
