FREDERICK W. KEUNE, a well known farmer and stockman, died at his home about five miles northeast of Laclede at 1:30 last Friday afternoon, aged sixty-three years. He had been in poor health for several years and had been quite sick for two or three weeks but was supposed to be improving, but became much worse Thursday night and did not rally.
Mr. Keune we born in Germany in 1848 and came to this country when he was 22 years old, settling in Iowa, where he married and resided until about seven years ago, when he came to Linn County. Of the six children who with the widow survive him, F.C. and Robert were home when he died. The other childred, F.W. Keune, Jr., of Elmer, Mrs. Julia Peacher of Deerfield and Mrs. Con Grandia of Richards, with their families, and Carl Keunne, who was in Colorado, came home for the funeral. Adlophus Watcher of Pella, Iowa, and Mrs. Keune's brother, was also here.
