ATLANTA, Ga. - Christopher Conley Leonard, 39, went to be with the Lord on Monday (Feb. 10, 2003).
Born in Kingsport, he was a resident of Hiltons, Va., most of his life, and a resident of Atlanta, Ga., for the past 12 years.
He was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and was employed as general manager for Comfort Inn and was a licensed real estate agent. He was a previous employee of Montgomery Ward. He enjoyed traveling, cooking, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Alice (Kimbler) LaForce; paternal grandparents, W. C. and Bernice (Larkey) Leonard.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa (McCray) Leonard, Atlanta; parents, Ray and Helen (LaForce) Leonard, Hiltons, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Ray Leonard Jr. and Lisa Leonard, Gate City, Va.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kim and Paul Kyst, Atlanta, Denise Harris, Gate City, Va., Karen and Larry Thompson, Mount Carmel; nieces and nephews, Chelsea and Christian Kyst, Brittany Leonard, Mike and Shannon Harris, Darren Parker and Tyler Thompson; great-niece, Alexandria Harris.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Oak Hill Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Sam Neeley officiating.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. The family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, 204 Echo Drive, Hiltons, Va.
The staff of Oak Hill Funeral Home is serving the Leonard family.
