Henry Clay Beard married Lucinda Macy 7 Jan, 1860 at Economy, In. In 1859 Henry Clay formed a partnership with Elim Osborne which lasted 18 years as contractors and builders--Osborne, Beard & Co. Henry died at age 39 of pneumonia leaving a widow with 5 children, Leonora Charlotte b.11 Dec, 1860, Eva L. b.20 Dec, 1862 d.20 Dec, 1862, Jonathan Seward b.5 Nov, 1864, John Greenleaf Whittier b. 17 Nov, 1871,Charles Sumner b.1874, Henry Fred b. 27 Nov, 1876.
