Frances E. Kress, 76, of Dubuque, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, of cancer.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, with the Rev. Steven Garner officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. today at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, where there will be a wake service at 1 p.m. Friends also may call after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
She was born on June 14, 1935, daughter of William and Bertha (Drilling) Myers. She married Paul A. Kress on May 11, 1957.
Frances enjoyed life to its fullest and was a loving wife, mother,and grandmother and will be missed dearly.
Surviving are Paul, her beloved husband of 54 years; four children, Michael and Steven, of Dubuque, Christine (Anthony Bean), of Madison Wis., and Bruce (Mary Ellen), of Sun Prairie Wis.; nine grandchildren, Scott, Sarah, Stacey, Katharine, Elisabeth, Johnathon, Anna, Benjamin and Nicholas Kress; her siblings, Esther Myers, Magdalen Wieling, Dorothy Cotant, Dolores Myers, Marilyn (Carl) Hoffmann and Elaine Hill; a brother-in-law, Tony Sieverding; and two sisters-in-law, Alice Myers and Marlene Myers.
She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas, in 2007; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Kress, in 2006; her parents, William and Bertha Myers; her sisters, Betty Sieverding and Mary DeSloover; her brothers, Albert and Leonard Myers; and brothers-in-law, Bernard DeSloover, James Cotant and Ralph Wieling.
