Known as "Mr. Integrity" or "Attorney For The People," Hogan served as a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention from New York in 1944, 1952, 1956, 1960, and 1964, and Candidate for United States Senator from New York in 1958. Also a noted lawyer, he was a Member of the American Bar Association, and later served as the District Attorney for Manhattan from 1941 to 1973. Hogan replaced Thomas Dewey and his innauguration was administered by Judge George L. Donnellan. (bio by: K)
