Margaret Ann Corless, 80, former Ogden area school teacher, died last Friday at Napa, Calif.
She began teaching career in 1925 at Box Elder High School, Brigham City, and in 1930 began teaching at Ogden High School where she was domestic arts instructor until her retirement in 1945.
She was born April 9, 1881, at Preston, England, to John and Sabina Parker Corless. She came to the United States in 1925.
She had been active in Relief Society and MIA of the Ogden Fifth and Fourth wards and the Napa Ward. She is a former member of the Ogden Business and Professional Women's Club. She was the recipient of the King George Medal for meritorious service in the Bundles for Britain project during World War II. She was actively engaged in USO service in Ogden during the war.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Polli Cater of Napa. Also two nieces, Bessie Corless, Provo, and Gertrude Corless of Napa, and several nephews in England.
Funeral services will be helpd Friday at 1 p.m. in the Larkin Funeral Chapel with Bishop Eddis W. Watkins conducting. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. and Friday until services. Interment will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.
