JOHN G AMELANG, 85 a resident of the Bunting Nursing Home at Bloomfield, Iowa died at the home at 6:45 p.m. Thursday. He had been in failing health for several years. He was a retired Davis County, Iowa Farmer.

The son of FRANK and HANNAH PLOSCHENTZ AMELANG, he was born in Wapello County, Iowa January 21, 1878. He had been a resident of Davis County, Iowa most of his life.

Surviving are three sisters: MRS ROSA MINOR and
MRS MARTHA SKINNER,both of Ottumwa, Iowa, and MRS
MINNIE ORMAN of Winter Haven, California, and several neices and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Chapel Ottumwa, Iowa, in charge of the service Donald Schmidt, pastor of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Shaul Cemetery Ottumwa, Iowa. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
