Politician. He was a member of the British Liberal Party, who served as a Member of Parliament several times. In 1906 he was elected as a Member of Parliament for Leigh. After his father's retirement, he was elected to replace him in parliament from Northwick serving from 1910 to 1918. In 1919 he became the 2nd Baronet on his father's death. He was an unsuccessful candidate from Southport for parliament in 1922, but was elected in 1923 yet defeated again in 1924. He was a defeated candidate in 1928. He was one of six children of Sir John Tomlinson Brunner, 1st Baronet, who was a politician and a British chemical industrialist, owning Brunner Mond & Company, the wealthiest British chemical company of the late 19th century.
