Albert Maxwell "Max" Butcher
Birth: Sep. 21, 1910
Death: Sep. 15, 1957

Major League Baseball Player. Born in Holden, West Virginia, he was a right handed pitcher making his debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 20, 1936. For ten seasons, he played with the Brooklyn Dodgers (1936-38), Philadelphia Phillies in 1939 and the Pittsburgh Pirates (1940-45). He ended his career with a record of 95 wins, 106 loss, 104 complete games, 14 shutouts, 9 saves, 485 strikeouts and a 3.73 earned run average. He died in Man, West Virginia, at the age of 46. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
