Eloise Richards Anderson

1928 ~ 2012

Eloise Richards Anderson was born on August 1, 1928 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She passed away peacefully on February 5, 2012 in Cedar Hills, Utah from causes related to age.

Eloise was raised in Pleasant Grove, Utah, the second child of Harry and Maud Fenton Richards. Upon graduating from Pleasant Grove High School, she enrolled in the Nursing Program at LDS Hospital and trained to become a Registered Nurse. Eloise earned a B.A. from Brigham Young University where she also taught as an instructor in the Nursing program.

Eloise and William Anderson were married on June 9, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were happily married for 54 years.

Eloise and Bill spent 19 years living in Hayward, California during which Eloise worked at St. Rose Hospital. Upon returning to Utah in 1981, Eloise worked at American Fork Hospital until her retirement in 1993. Eloise enjoyed her career in nursing, and was a well-respected nurse and manager.

After retiring, Eloise wrote a comprehensive life history, which is a treasure she left for her family. Eloise and Bill served a full-time mission on Temple Square, followed by several part-time service missions at the BYU Family History Library and with LDS Social Services.

Eloise was an active member of the LDS Church, and served wherever needed, but especially enjoyed her callings in the Relief Society and as Gospel Doctrine Teacher. Eloise spent her life studying the scriptures, and taught by example how to live the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Eloise and Bill shared a love for LDS Church history, and enjoyed many trips to visit and study historical sites. Mom was an avid sports fan, and also appreciated music and the arts.

Eloise R. Anderson is survived by her children; and one brother; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband William, son Mark, Sister Marilyn Wright and brother James Richards.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the American Fork North Stake Center, 925 North 60 East, American Fork, Utah.
