Lloyd G. Egerdahl, 81, of Seventh Street in Proctor died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998, in his home.

He was born in Hibbing, graduated from Proctor High School in 1935, and attended Grand Rapids Agriculture College. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the West Duluth American Legion and Proctor Moose, and had been the secretary of the Locomotive Engineers Union for 25 years. Lloyd had been employed as an engineer with the Duluth Missabe and Iron Range Railway for 40 years before retiring in 1978.

The words ''I can't'' were not a part of his vocabulary. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and taking care of the birds.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary; his son Terry, in 1980; a grandson Erik, in 1998; and a sister Joyce Reid.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia; sons Gary (Chris) Egerdahl of Hermantown and Dick Pesonen of Orlando, Fla.; a grandson, Adam; and a granddaughter, Tiffany.

Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. service Friday in Bell Brothers Chapel. Burial in Oneota Cemetery. Arrangements by Bell Brothers Funeral Directors, Bell Brothers Chapel, 601 N. 56th Ave. W.
