Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Brewer was 5'10", 180lbs, and he played the position of Defense for teams in the OHA, NHL, AHL, IHL, WHA, and the FNL hockey leagues. He played for the Toronto Marlboros from 1955 to 1956, and 1957 to 1958, Toronto Maple Leafs from 1957 to 1965, and 1979 to 1980, Rochester Americans from 1958 to 1959, Muskegon Mohawks from 1967 to 1968, HIFK Helsinki from 1968 to 1969, Detroit Red Wings from 1969 to 1970, St. Louis Blues from 1970 to 1972, Toronto Toros from 1973 to 1974, and the New Brunswick Hawks from 1979 to 1980. Brewer was the recipient of the Governor's Trophy in 1967 to 1968. Brewer passed away on August 25, 2001, in Toronto, at the age of 62 following a battle with cancer. (bio by: K)
