Mrs. Dorman, 79, of El Dorado Springs died at home surrounded by her family.
She was born near Pittsburg to William and Julia Quick Floyd.
After graduating from Wheatland High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Clyde Dorman, on July 9, 1949. They raised eight children: Jacqueline Becky, Denice Bell, Marlene Holtkamp, Sandra Pompa, Ellen Tucker, Robin Pressley, Rhonda Dorman and Roger Dorman.
They lived in the Kansas City area and then moved to Irving, Texas. After retiring, the Dormans returned to Missouri in 1988.
She enjoyed taking long walks on her rural property, collecting unique rocks and finding arrowhead. She enjoyed reading, as well as watching birds and wildlife.
Preceding her in death were her mother and father; three brothers, Alva Clifford Floyd, Hubert Lee Floyd and Charles Edward Floyd; a sister, Norma Jean Raymond; and a grandson, Aaron Lloyd Tipping.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde; one sister, Bernice Arlene Sanders; and all of her children and remaining grandchildren. She had 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Al Bandy officiated with interment at Antioch Cemetery, Pittsburg. Pallbearers were grandsons Jason Beck, Nick Tipping, Clyde Heath Tucker, Jared Pompa, Kevin Presley and Evan Tucker.
Services: Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at Hathaway-Peterman Funeral Home, Wheatland.
