Charles E. "Alec" Neal, 92, Martinsville, went to be with the Lord at 3:25 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the Grandview Health & Rehabilitation Center in Martinsville.

He was born on Friday, July 11, 1919 in Morgan County, Indiana, to the late Dempsey William and Myrtle Mae (Buckner) Neal.

On October 5, 1939 he married Violet Marie (Baker) Neal and she passed away on November 19, 2009.

Alec retired in 1972 after working for 31 years at Detroit Diesel Allison in Indianapolis where he was a master mechanic. He was a member of the First Church of The Nazarene in Martinsville and was a WWII Army veteran.

Survivors are his sons, Jerry Dee Neal of Mooresville and Donald L. Neal and wife Norma of Martinsville; daughters, Janet McCarty of Plainfield, Patricia Clark and husband Melvin of Martinsville and Charlotte Everroad of Martinsville; grandchildren, Jack, Mark and Brian McCarty, Susan Master, Teresa Wagner, Denise Everroad, Christina Collins, Mike and Benjamin Neal, Jeff Neal and Jennifer Neal; great grandchildren, Camryn, Grace and Gabriel McCarty, Josh Parmerlee, Ryan and Taylor Neal, Kayla and Tyler Neal, Madison Williams and Cora Jane Collins; stepgreat grandchildren, Nikki, Lauren, Andrew, Levi, Devon, Jayden, Deacon, James and Amanda; grandson-in-law, Michael Strader.

He was also preceded in death by granddaughters, Lisa Strader and Melissa Everroad; brothers, John Robert Neal, James W. Neal and Jack Dempsey Neal; sisters, Louise Hicks, Merle Shireman, Pauline Baker and Ruth Hand.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the First Church of The Nazarene, 1609 John Wooden Drive, Martinsville, IN 46151 with Pastor Allen Southerland officiating. Visitation will be prior to the funeral services starting at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will be at New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
