Completed arrangements are being announced for Helen Virginia (Fuqua) Alexander, 85, of Union City, who died early Dec. 13, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Dr. Matthew Wohlfarth officiating. Pallbearers will be Marvin Alexander, Walt Alexander, Wendell Alexander, Billy Brewer, Johnny Duncan and L.D. Gantt.
Burial will follow in East View Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Friday.
She was born July 9, 1921, in Weakley County, daughter of the late Sam and Linnie (Prince) Fuqua. She married Leslie Harold Alexander Nov. 24, 1938. He died April 12, 2000. She was a homemaker and had been an AvonŠ representative for more than 25 years. She was a member of Union City First Baptist Church and was an avid Tennessee Walking Horse enthusiast.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dickie and Kay Alexander and Roger and Janie Alexander, all of Union City; and three grandchildren, Karen (Alexander) Kingins of Murray, Ky., and Tyler Alexander and Ryan Alexander, both of Atlanta. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Macon Fuqua and Finis Fuqua.
