Harold wrote his personal history in 1977 during the last stages of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis(ALS-Lou Gehrig's Disease). He was paralyzed and unable to speak. He communicated by using a manual typewriter - pencil in mouth to type. He suffered with the disease for about 2 years. His written history is very detailed as his memory was sharp. The family treasures his history as we learned abut the struggles, sacrifices and triumphs of settling the West coming from Nebraska and homesteading on the plains of WY in 1929. He was an amazing man!
