Private Emmor B. Hickman, ,a farmer from East Goshen; enlisted at age 20 in Company C, 97th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry on Sept. 18, 1861, for 3 yrs.; he mustered out on Sept. 11, 1864, at the expiration of his term

At the Chester County Hospital about midnight, Emmor B. Hickman, who had been suffering from bronchitis and indigeston died in his 67th year. He had long been a farmer in West Goshen Township, and during the Rebellion was a member of Co. C. 97th Regiment, P.V. For some time he had been in poor health.

Mr. Hickman was born in West Goshen, a son of the late Alban Hickman, and spent the greater part of his life there. The family is connected with the Society of Friends. He belonged to McCall Post No. 31, G.A.R.

He married Ellen, daughter of James Dicks, of the same township,and is survived by her. The following children also are living: Edgar, of Malvern; Lillie, wife of Theodore Lineau, South Darlington Street; Lewis, who lives at Gay and Darlington streets; Amy, at home; Blanche, wife of Howard Bradley, West Chester; Eugene, on Washington Street, and Carrie, wife of Herbert Goodwin, Strafford.

Two brothers survive him, F. Sharpless Hickman, of West Chester, and Cyrus, of Tacoma, Wash.

HICKMAN- In West Chester, on December 2d, 1908, Emmor B. Hickman, in the 68th year of his age.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral without further notice from the residence of his son, Lewis M. Hickman, No.25 Darlington Street, on Sunday, December 6th. Meet at the house at 2 o'clock. Interment at Greenmount Cemetery.
