‘George M. Brandau, Retired Photographer, Taken in Death'
George M. Brandau, 78, of 54 North James street, retired photographer, died at 7:30 this morning at the home of his son, G. Sturart Brandau, 5525 Canal road, Harrisburg. Death was due to a heart attack. Born in Exeter, a son of the late George and Amanda (Klingerman) Brandau, he resided in this city most of his life. He conducted a photographic studio on West Broad street for many years. The deceased was a member of Emmanuel's United Church of Christ, the Stofflett Bible Class of the church, Lafayette Council 59, Order of Independent American, and was state past-president of the Protective Home Circle.
His wife, the former C. Catherine Huey, died in 1954. Surviving are three children: G. Stuart, Harrisburg; James, West Hazleton; and Lois, at home. Also surviving are five grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Krapf and Hughes Funeral Home. Rev. E. Lawrence Bottiger will conduct the services. Interment will be in the Vine Street Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
