George Brandau Sr., aged 85 years, who resided with his daughter, Mrs. William Ziegler, 430 East Cranberry avenue, died last evening, at the State Hospital, of complications. Mr. Brandau was born in Germany and came to America 80 years ago. He was a former caretaker of the Diamond Water Works for a number of years. His wife, Amanda Klingerman Brandau, died 26 years ago. Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Martin, West Hazleton, N.J.; Mrs. Gertrude Wilkinson, Jeddo; George M. Brandau, Mrs. Harry Strack, Mrs. William Ziegler, Arthur Brandau, Jeddo; and Philip Brandau. Twenty-two grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive; as well as the following brother and sisters: Martin Brandau, Easton; Mrs. Gertrude Keller, Drifton; Mrs. Mary Schaub, Hazleton.
