Musician. He was a bass player, singer and songwriter most notable for his work with the British band, Badfinger. He began playing in bands in the early 1960s, joined the group The Iveys which was signed to Apple Records in 1968 and Evans' composition, "Maybe Tomorrow," was the first single released by the band. The Iveys changed their name to Badfinger in 1969 and the Paul McCartney song "Come and Get It" which reached the Top 10 worldwide was featured in the film "The Magic Christian." During the early 1970s, Badfinger had success with hits to include "No Matter What," "Day After Day," "Baby Blue" and "With Out You." After the band dissolved following the death of one of its members in 1975, Evans resurfaced in 1977 to join Badfinger for comeback tours and the album "Say No More" (1981). He died in New Haw, Surrey, England at age 36.
