Son of J. N. and Indiana (Thompson) Beason. Brother to Beulah Reynolds, Walter Beason, Handley Beason and Evelyn Beason Sample.

Ross was also survived by a grandson, Ross Beason III (CMA '63), and now also has a great grandson, Scott Beauregard Beason.

Ross provided for a memorial park to be named in his wife's honor. The 43-acre park is on the Tippecanoe River in NE Pulaski County, Indiana and is administered by the Culver Educational Foundation, of which Ross was a director. The park was dedicated on November 14, 1959. The park includes a guest house, a dormitory and a dining and recreation building, dedicated to their son and named The Ross Beason Jr. Memorial Hall. Ross, Jr. was a CMA graduate and WWII fighter pilot who lost his life in the war.
