WEST FRANKFORT -- Vera M. Gilliam, 93, died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, in West Side Rehabilitation and Care Center in West Frankfort.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Union Chapel Cemetery in Jefferson County, with the Rev. Bill Cummins officiating. Entombment will be in Union Chapel Cemetery in Jefferson County. There will be no visitation.
Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is in charge of arrangements.

Vera M. Gilliam, 93, of West Frankfort, Illinois passed away at 7:45 A.M. on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at West Side Rehabilitation & Care Center in West Frankfort, Illinois.
Vera was born on Monday, October 14, 1918 in Benton, Illinois the daughter of the late Jarvis and Callie (Harris) O'Neal. She married Russell A. Wicks on February 22, 1942 and he preceded her in death on July 7, 1979. She married Myron Dale Gilliam on November 11, 1980 and he preceded her in death on December 26, 2011.
Vera was a title clerk and secretary for Collins Brothers Oil Company, was Past President and member of the Desk and Derrick Club and was also a member of the Women of the Moose.
Surviving family members include her son: Paul Wicks and wife Barbara of Hayden, Idaho; one grandchild; two great grandchildren; several nieces and one nephew also survive.
Her parents, both husbands and one sister preceded her in death.
GRAVESIDE SERVICES: will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, February 6, 2012 at Union Chapel Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois. Reverend Bill Cummins will officiate. VISITATION: There will be no visitation held. Entombment will be at Union Chapel Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Donor's Choice and will be accepted at the funeral home, cemetery or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.
