Originally interred at the Reformed Dutch Church Cemetery in Albany. When the cemetery was removed all interments were relocated to Albany Rural Cemetery.

Dominie Pieterus Hendricus Van Driessen was actually born in Coevorden, Drenthe, Netherlands. Belgium split from the Netherlands in 1830. The word "Dominie " is a Scots language and Scottish English term for a Scottish schoolmaster usually of the Church of Scotland and also a term used in the US for a minister or pastor of the Dutch Reformed Church. Since he was buried in the Dutch Reformed Church I would say he was a Pastor.

Details: This individual was originally buried in the Dutch Reformed Burial Ground near Hudson Avenue and Beaver Streets. This site was covered and developed without removing the bodies. With the except of a very few unidentified bones found during excavations in the 1880s and againin the 1980s, no graves were actually removed from this site. Only the unidentified bones were buried in unmarked graves at Albany Rural Cemetery in 1931 and 1986.
