Beatrice Howard, 93

Beatrice (Foley) Howard, 93, of Blair, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at her apartment at Crowell Memorial Home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 7 p.m.

Beatrice Howard was born Dec. 5, 1910, in Blair to Jeremiah and Marie Louise (Lazure) Foley. She graduated from Blair High School and attended Wayne State Teachers College. She taught school until her marriage to Dr. Clifford Howard on Sept. 11, 1937.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila Howard Seburg and Dr. Richard Seburg of Newport Beach, Calif., son and daughter-in-law, James Kent and Karen Howard of Park City, Utah; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford.

Miss Beatrice Clare Foley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Foley, will become the bride of Dr. Clifford D. Howard, of Blair, son of Arthur Howard of Guide Rock, Nebraska, at a simple wedding ceremony next Saturday morning by Father George F. Jonaitis, pastor of St. Francis Borgia Catholic church. Attendants of the couple will be Miss Rita Foley, youngest sister of the bride, and Robert O’Hanlon.

The bride will wear a mahogany colored two-piece crepe suit with black accessories.

A graduate of the Blair High school with the class of 1929, the bride later attended Dana college here and the State Teachers college at Wayne. For the past several years she has been an instructor in the Washington county rural schools.

Dr. Howard, following his graduation from the Guide Rock High school, attended the University of Nebraska Medical college from where he was graduated in 1934. After serving his internship at the Douglas county hospital in Omaha, he came to Blair where he has been practicing for the past two years.

Immediately after the wedding ceremony the couple will leave for a week’s trip to the Black Hills. Upon their return to Blair they will make their home in an apartment at the Snyder residence on West Grant street.
