James F. Pridgen Sr, 70, of Rocky Point, North Carolina went peacefully to his heavenly home on Monday, January 30, 2012.
He was born in Currie, North Carolina on October 3, 1941, son of the late E.J. Pridgen, Sr and Mary Newton Pridgen.
Jimmy was a member of Riley's Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and on numerous committees. He enjoyed golf and was an avid Duke fan.

He is survived by his dedicated, loving wife of 50 years, Julia H. Pridgen and two sons, Frankie (Sandi) Pridgen and Randy (Karen) Pridgen, two grandchildren, Holt and Ashtyn Pridgen, all of Rocky Point, a sister, Iris (Mack) Autry, a brother, Ricky (Dayna) Pridgen, a sister in law, Hattie Pridgen and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Evans Pridgen and E.J. Pridgen, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Ashe, Leon Lewis, Jr, Andy Brinkley, Mark Mintz, Stan Harts, and Elbert Newton, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be C.H. Harts, James Davis, Harry McKeithan, Dwight Overby, and James Perry.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice for their great care over the past two years, especially to Betty and Monica, to C.H. Harts and James Davis for their weekly calls and visits and to a very special Aunt and Uncle, Neal and Sue Newton.
