Sylvia Stoker Verrone died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ. She was 76 years old. Sylvia Stoker Verrone was born and raised in Scipio, New York. She graduated college and went on to earn her Masters from S.U.N.Y. at Albany. Sylvia started her teaching career in Spring Valley, NY and also taught in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. She met her husband Tony and lived in Paterson, before living in Wayne for 39 years. Most recently she resided in Randolph, NJ for the past 5 years.
Mrs. Verrone is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dominico Antonio (Tony) Verrone; daughter, Dana Verrone Tamminga of Randolph; son, David Anthony Verrone of Mount Olive; son-in-law, William Tamminga; daughters-in-law, Elaine Verrone and Melissa Verrone. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Christopher and Stefan Tamminga, Rachael and Joseph Verrone of Randolph and Nicholas, Francesca, Anthony and Gina Marie Verrone of Mt. Olive. She is also survived by her sisters, Cynthia Stoker, Priscilla Chase, Kathy Symuyla and Sandra Gilliland all from Finger Lakes region of New York. She was predeceased by her son, Stephen Anthony Verrone of Randolph, NJ and by her brother, Edward Stoker of Sarasota, Florida.
Arrangements are being handled by Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph, NJ (tuttlefh.com). Viewing is on Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 from 4 - 8 PM. Funeral Service will be on Friday, February 3rd, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chester, NJ.
