Nelva F. Johnson, 101, of Westwood Center, Bluefield, Va., formerly of Bramwell, died on Friday, May 25, 2007 at Westwood.
Born on Nov. 26, 1905 in Pembroke, Va., she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Cleo Patra Porterfield Stiff. She had lived in Bramwell for 35 years and was a member of Bramwell Wesleyan Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Sidney Moore; her second husband, Rev. Cortney Johnson; sons, Talmadge Moore, Norman Moore and Donnie Moore; and daughters, Cleo Presley and Coleen Moore.
Survivors include son, Sidney Moore and wife Loretta of Edgewood, Md.; daughters, Janice Eloff and husband Joseph of Sylvania, Ohio, Nancy McGonagill and husband Don of Big Spring, Texas, and Patty Haynes of Hinton; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with the Rev. Marty Furrow officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell.
Donald C. Presley, Christopher B. Presley, Gary Presley, Nick Presley, Donald Hylton, and Anthony Honosky will serve as pallbearers.
The Cravens-Shires Funeral Home of Bluewell is in charge of arrangements.
