Alethia was the daughter of Andrew Brockles and Ola Feltnor Brockles. She had two brothers of which one was Arge and two sisters of which Margaret was one.
Alethia married Thomas Edward Alt, Sr. on Jan. 31, 1947 in St. Matthew's Episcopal Cathedral in Dallas, Tx. She told me one day as we were working together at church that she met Tom in Galveston, Tex., they were both on vacation from their home town of Dallas. They had four daughters, Angela, Barbara, Christina, and Elena, as well as two sons, Thomas, and Daniel. The Alts moved from Dallas to Fredericksburg in 1975, restoring their home they had just purchased, the old Palo Alto Schoolhouse. They bought and restored the pioneer, Frank Hanisch home on W. Main in 1977 and opened the Altdorf Biergarten restaurant and Antique Shop. They also bought another old restaurant on Main street closer to the Nimitz museum, Auslander Biergarten which they operated until retiring in 1983.
Alethia was a very active member of St. Barnabas.
