Colchester - Ed Helton, 90, of Colchester died at 2:50 p.m. Friday at McDonough District Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sargent's Funeral Home in Macomb, the Rev. John Danielson officiating. Burial will be in Brooklyn, Illinois. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Helton was born Nov. 23, 1889, in Lexington, Ky., the son of John Wesley and Harriet Letitia Young Helton. He was a retired trucker and had spent most of his life in Sciota, residing the last nine years with his son in Colchester. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He married Nell M. Davis on Oct. 20, 1910, in Walnut Grove. She died April 18, 1959.
Surviving are three sons, Paul of Colchester, Jake of Decatur and John of Knoxville; one daughter Mrs. Joe (Eva) Wozniak of Decatur; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Art (Jane) Davis; seven brothers, Charles Martin, Henry, Garland, Robert, Albert, Walter and William; and four sisters, Mrs. Laura Coyle, Mrs. Ellen Black, Mrs. Haggie Gass, and Mrs. Frances Sallee.
