Musician, taught children at St. Peter's Mission, she played the organ, piano, harp; her first visit to St. Peter's Mission was 10/6/1891, her sister Lily was married to Joseph K. Toole, Anita's father was a convert.

She had a very busy and active childhood, loving the out of doors, reading and music. Due to her father's military career she did move around quite a bit. While in Mexico with her parents she learned fluent Spanish.

Later she would attend school conducted by the Brown County, Ohio Ursuline Convent. Her she would become fluet in both French and German.

After the war and the death of her sister Mary, who was a nun and her brother Adrian a priest, she decided that she too would become a nun. She eventually had to be asked to be released from her vows due to health problems. She returned to live with her parents, once again as Anita. After her mother's death she played hostess for her father, General Rosecrans in both Washington D. C. and in California.

After his death she went to school to learn shorthand and eventually became the stenographer to her brother in law, the Governor Toole of Montana.
