A native of Scotland, she made her mark in the 1970s as a nine year old girl with a huge voice who was brought into the spotlight when she won 'Opportunity Knocks' talent show, five weeks in a row. She went to the Italia Conte stage school in London, making friends with Bonnie Langford and also sang for many famous people including President Gerald Ford at the White House and Queen Elizabeth at a variety performance. She also appeared with Frank Sinatra and Liza Minelli in a charity concert in Los Angeles. At the age of 13 the 4'10 singer began a steady decline due to Anorexia Nervosa, her weight at one point plunged to just 80 pounds. Her career slipped and she retired when she married her one and only boyfriend but the marriage last only 18 months. She died from complication from an operation at age 35. (bio by: Medora)
