J. Blaine Marlow, 75, of RFD 7, died at 11:05a.m. Wednesday in Good Samaritan Hospital. He was a retired rural letter carrier.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30p.m. Friday at Myers Chapel with the Rev. Marvin L. Chadbourne officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. Member of Jefferson Post 141, American Legion, will conduct graveside rites.
The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 6:00p.m. today.
Mr. Marlow was born Feb. 27, 1891, in Jefferson county, the son of Winfield and Almeda (Summers) Marlow.
On Jan. 19, 1939, he was married to Effie Olomon, who survives. He is also survived by two step-daughters, Mrs. Melba Vrbancic and Mrs. Betty Sanders, both of California; two sisters, Mrs. B. F. Case of Bluford, and Miss Cora Marlow of Springfield, Ill.; and a granddaughter, Mrs. Sharon Horton of Tinley Park, Ill.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Mr. Marlow was a member of Epworth Methodist church. He was a member of Marion Lodge, I.O.O.F. No. 13, Catons, Jefferson Encampment 182, Varnell Rebekah Lodge, Veterans of World War One, and the Rural Letter Carriers' Association.
He was a veteran of World War One.
