Mr. Joseph Robert VanHoozer, 69, of West Diamond Avenue, Gaithersburg, died on Sunday, July 9, at Washington Adventist Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Lorena Mae VanHoozer; eight children, Helen Hagy, Catonsville, Ruth Hypes, Virginia, Dorothy Abel, Sharpsburg, John R. VanHoozer, Kensington, Joan Steele, Gaithersburg, Charles W. VanHoozer, Boonsboro. Melvin VanHoozer, Tennessee, and Roger VanHoozer, Lisbon; one sister, Mrs. Grace Bucamna, Virginia; four brothers, George VanHoozer, Frank VanHoozer, Woodrow VanHoozer and Andrew VanHoozer, all of Virginia; 17 grandchildren.
Friends may visit at the Francis H. Barber Funeral Home, Laytonsville on Tuesday. July 11, from 3-4 and 7-9 p.m. and at the Church of God of Prophecy, Travilah Road, on Wednesday, July 12 from 2-3 p.m. where funeral services will beheld at 3 p.m. Interment will be in the Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
