Mahala Wells married Lemuel Fox on December 23, 1872, in Sevier County, Tennessee, by the Rev. H.S. Blair.
She was a daughter of Levi and Anna Shrader Wells.
Wrote on her tombstone is:
WE LOVED YOU, YES WE LOVED YOU, BUT GOD LOVED YOU MORE.
HE HAS SURELY CALLED YOU TO HEAVEN'S SHINNING SHORE.
