Born in Albion to Sylvester "Chub" and Floe SHOEMAKER HEDINGTON, she had lived most of her life in the Mentone area after moving from Albion. She married Franklin D. YATES on Aug. 28, 1954, in Etna Green. He survives.
She was co-owner of Yates Trucking Co. She was a member of the Moose Lodge, Warsaw, and loved car shows.
Survivors include her husband, Franklin D. YATES, Warsaw; one daughter, Kathy and husband Robert YAICH, Strasburg, Colo.; two sons, Randy YATES and wife Lisa, North Manchester, Brett YATES and wife Chris, Mentone; one sister, Nancy and husband Larry MELLOTT, Etna Green; one brother, Joe HEDINGTON and wife Linda, Warsaw; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Her parents preceded her in death.
