A native of Pendleton County, he was a son of the late Isaac and Hannah (Smith) Armentrout.
He was a World War II veteran, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and of Pleasant View United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Jocie (Thompson) Armentrout; two sisters, Mrs. Lestie Heavener, Indian Head, Md. and Miss Sylvia Armentrout, Cabins; two brothers, Bernie S. Armentrout, Elkins, and Foster K. Armentrout, Cabins.
Friends will be received at the Arnold Funeral Home afternoon Thursday.
A service will be conducted there Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Denzil Moore and the Rev. Blair Burr officiating.
Interment will be in South Branch Memorial Gardens.
