("The Avoca Herald" newspaper of Avoca, Iowa dated August 17, 1881 on p. 4)
George Hart, who had been a sufferer from some unknown disease for the past four years, quietly passed away last Monday, and his remains were buried on Tuesday by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, of Avoca, assisted by members of the order from Walnut and Shelby. A post mortem examination revealed that dropsy of the chest was the cause of death, instead of consumption, as had been supposed.
