Bobby Gene Brackman, 79, of Stephens, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012. He was born in Brightstar, Arkansas April 26, 1932 to the late Clyde Arthur and Eva McCasland Brackman.

Bob proudly served his country in the Korean War as a member of the United States Air Force for four years. He graduated from Southern State College in Magnolia, (now SAU). Bob started his career with Commercial Credit Corporation in Camden, Arkansas. He retired as manager in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Bob was a person who enjoyed having fun. He liked to tease and make people laugh. He liked to listen to and sing gospel songs. A Baptist, he loved the Lord and he loved his family. One of his favorite past times was watching Razorback football and basketball.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Adrian Brackman, and by his son, David Michael Brackman.

Bob is survived by his wife, Virginia Brackman of Stephens; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Kaye and Roy Anthony Thompson of Madisonville, Louisiana; a granddaughter Sarah Brackman and grandson, Travis Brackman.

The family wishes to thank Dr. David Mosley and his staff for their care.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Stephens Cemetery under the direction of Proctor Funeral Home of Camden. Officiating the service will be Bro. Stephen Suffron, pastor of First Baptist Church of Stephens, Arkansas.
