Mr. Earl Wendell Lewis, 67, of West Hunter Road, Dickerson, died Monday, Oct. 16, at home.
He was the husband of Doris Matthews Lewis.
Born March 8, 1928, in Beallsville, he was the son of Lottie Mainheart Lewis and the late Guy V. Lewis Sr.
Mr. Lewis farmed for many years in Upper Montgomery County with his father-in-law W.K. Matthews and then retired from Bretton Woods Recreation Center at Seneca after 23 years of service.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are three daughters, Joan Sharp and husband George of Seaview, Va., Teresa Snyder and husband John of Frederick, and Debora Coursey and husband John of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, Guy V. Lewis Jr. and Allen Doyle Lewis, both of Beallsville; two sisters, Marjorie Randies of Parker, Colo., and Barbara Kanode of Adamstown; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Marshall J. Lewis.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville. Funeral services will begin there at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, 1730 N. Market St., Frederick, Md. 21701.
