DAVENPORT — Charlotte I. White, 90, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Crest Health Center in Davenport. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, at The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be made at www.rungemortuary.com. Mrs. White was born October 2, 1921, in Holton, Kansas, a daughter of Robert and Clarice (Grubbs) Todd. On April 25, 1946, she married George R. White in Holton. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last year. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2011. She was first employed by Denison State Bank in Holton, Kansas. Later she was employed by First Federal in Davenport and retired from Lindquist Ford in Bettendorf after 28 years of service. Her memberships included the PTA and Newcomb Presbyterian Church in Davenport, where she formerly taught Sunday school. In earlier years she was active in Dad's Club baseball and Cub Scouts. She was a Befriender at Genesis East for 25 years, a volunteer reader at Harrison School, and an excellent seamstress. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Robert Shirk of Ames, Iowa; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Linda White of Davenport; grandchildren, Angie Shirk of Ames and Todd Shirk of Urbandale, Iowa; a sister, Mary Hower of Holton, Kansas; and a brother, Clarence Todd of Effingham, Kansas.
